Southern Cross Martial Arts Ballarat wants children to be safe, happy and have a voice. We have zero tolerance of child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns in relation to children will be treated very seriously and consistently in line with our policies and procedures. As an organisation Southern Cross Martial Arts is committed to preventing child abuse and identifying such risks early.
We also recognise and respect the importance of cultural safety of children, including Aboriginal children and those children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, Southern Cross Martial Arts makes every effort to provide a safe environment for children with disabilities should they wish to join us.
All our staff and volunteers are educated and trained on understanding the risks associated with child safety and our policies and procedures enable us to remove and reduce risks early.
We will follow our procedures and contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety.
